From April 16 - May 16, 2024, in preparation for building a plan to operate the learning and living complex for students at Nguyen Van Linh Campus, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) organized visits, studies and exchanges of experience in managing large-scale university dormitories in Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring provinces.
The UEH delegation included Assoc.Prof. Bui Quang Hung - Deputy Director of UEH, Assoc.Prof.Phan Thi Bich Nguyet - Chairwoman of the Strategy and Policy Advisory Council and leaders of the University Office, Department of Undergraduate Training, Department of Facilities Management, Department of Finance - Investment Planning, Department of Marketing - Communication, Department of Scheduling - Testing, Department of Student Affairs, Dormitory Board of Management, Library, Medical Center, Center for Physical Training, Party - Union Office.
Remarking the orientation of the business trip, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Bui Quang Hung - Deputy Director of UEH - emphasized: "UEH is currently building a learning, research and living complex for students and experts at Nguyen Van Linh campus with modern equipment, amenities, and green landscape. The school hopes this will be a center for learning, research, a livable common home, and an ideal resting place for the community of learners, domestic and international experts. Therefore, UEH chose to visit the dormitory models of 4 universities to gain experience in completing the overall plans and operating the complex effectively in the future, at the same time, absorbing and developing the activities of the school internal to the dormitories."

To ensure the best service for learners and experts, the UEH delegation visited large-scale dormitories in Ho Chi Minh City and Binh Duong: Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, Vietnam National University; Ton Duc Thang University and Viet Duc University with two main contents: visiting dormitory facilities and exchanging experiences on dormitory management models, health and security issues, and policies/facilities at dormitories.
The dormitory model of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology - Vietnam National University is a dormitory model aimed at serving both its students of the high-quality programs and those wishing to study at universities in Ho Chi Minh City. In particular, the service room is equipped with air conditioners, refrigerators, washing machines, quality beds and mattresses, and room cleaning services. Regular rooms is also be equipped with a refrigerator, washing machine, and cleaning service, but an additional rental fee will be charged for each service the student chooses

The dormitory of Vietnam National University is largest in Vietnam with 47 buildings, serving a large number of students in the Vietnam National University system and signed partner university. The dormitory's operating model adopts the apartment management model with a full Management Board of housing clusters, centralized medical stations and related functional rooms.

Viet Duc University's dormitory is a model far from the city center and serves international and Vietnamese students with modern facilities, amenities, accompanying sports areas, open space, and many green campuses. In particular, the school has many bus routes flexibly for experts and students during the day or on weekends.

UEH currently has 02 dormitories at 135 Tran Hung Dao, District 1 and 43-45 Nguyen Chi Thanh, District 5 (Ho Chi Minh City) and another one located on UEH Vinh Long Campus (Vinh Long Province). In order for students to have a safe and healthy living, entertainment and learning environment, over the years, UEH has upgraded and fully equipped with convenient facilities listed as elevators, washing/drying rooms, photocopiers, self-study rooms, drinking water/hot water systems and 24/7 wifi. In addition to assure 24/7 security, UEH uses a security management system at the entrance/exit and 24/24 cameras on floors and public areas to ensure absolute safety for students. In addition, the school always creates many playgrounds, diverse extracurricular activities, and exchange programs for international students from countries such as Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, Ukraine, Afghanistan, and Thailand. Lan, Taiwan, etc., helping them interact in a multicultural environment with the international community.
UEH's complex at Nguyen Van Linh Campus is a completely new learning and living place for students and experts, expected to be completed in May 2025 with a capacity of nearly 1,200 slots on 8 floors with many rooms of 2 beds, 3 beds, 4 beds and 6 beds.
Intending to train global citizens, UEH not only equips learners with professional knowledge but also orients an active, sustainable lifestyle, along with educating the right life skills and attitudes. In the future, the new complex invested in by UEH will be a comprehensive environment to train both qualities and abilities for students. Therefore, in addition to preparing the best conditions for accommodation, facilities, equipment, and support services, UEH wishes to invest and apply technology in management and services, creating a friendly, dynamic, and safe living environment like a second home for learners to develop comprehensively.
