UEH University in Vietnam Embarks on an Exciting New Journey with the Jean Monnet Actions Project

On26 October 2023, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH University) is delighted to announce the commencement of a groundbreaking project titled "Sustainable Development in the European Union: Jean Monnet Interdisciplinary Module". This initiative has received financing from the European Union under the prestigious Jean Monnet Actions of the Erasmus programme.

This project marks a significant milestone for UEH, being the first-ever Jean Monnet Actions project to be financed at our esteemed institution. Such an achievement places UEH University among a select group of universities in Vietnam; to date, fewer than 10 universities in the country have been awarded Jean Monnet Actions projects. This recognition solidifies UEH's commitment to advancing academic excellence and global partnerships.

The project is aimed at enhancing the understanding of sustainable development in Vietnam, which, despite its commitment to global sustainability standards, ranks only 55th in the Global Sustainability Index.

In the words of Dr. Hai - Yen Hoang, "Vietnam's journey towards sustainability is pivotal, and through the EU4Sustainability project, we aim to offer higher education students the cognitive tools they need to comprehend the EU's role as a global promoter of sustainable development."
