Students of the ICAEW CFAB+ integrated accounting program can participate in career orientation programs, summer internships, and internships in Malaysia from June 30, 2024 to July 6, 2024, under a tripartite cooperation agreement between UEH, BDO Vietnam, and ICEAW to train high-quality human resources in the fields of accounting, auditing, and finance in accordance with international standards.
For a long time, UEH has frequently developed business tour programs to allow students to experience the real world at the enterprise, bridging the gap between theory and practice and providing students with the most realistic perspective of their future working environment. Students in the CFAB+ Integrated Accounting curriculum have had the opportunity to visit and experience the business environment in Malaysia, in along with collaborating with enterprises and businesses in Vietnam.

At the start of the program, a delegation of lecturers and students visited the BDO Malaysia office and were greeted warmly by company executives. Ms. Prianka Jothi Ganes, Assistant Director of Talent Recruitment at BDO Malaysia, introduced the delegation to the company's operating model, recruitment programs, talent attraction, and employee mental health facilities. Then, Ms. Thong Siew Fong, Recruitment Director, and Mr. Samuel Kangoni, Audit Director discussed the auditing and transfer pricing professions in further detail, as well as practical working experiences and talents, with the student delegation. Continuing the journey, the delegation took part in the STRENGTH workshop, which included building a tower out of spaghetti and marshmallows, a SWOT sharing session to identify their strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and challenges in specific situations chosen by the students, and group discussion activities.

To improve students' soft skills and increase their chances of getting employed by overseas firms, the second day's tour led them to Linkedin Workshop. Students were taught how to properly organize and promote their Linkedin accounts in order to make the best impression on potential employers. From there, students will go on a voyage of "connecting" and discovering a "land" full with possibility, not just to find a career, but also to generate opportunities for personal development.

After a period of continuous study and group work, the student groups will present their project results to a panel of judges who are senior management personnel from BDO Malaysia, including Mr. Brendan Francis Lim - General Manager, Audit & Assurance; Mr. Chok Chau On - Managing Director, Consulting; Ms. Bonnie Tham - Managing Director, Head of Human Resources and Support; and Ms. Thong Siew Fong - Recruitment Director. This is a unique and valuable opportunity for students to listen to and get criticism from long-standing professionals in the subject, as well as to experiment and prove themselves.

Following their summer internship at BDO Malaysia, CFAB+ students visited and interacted with Universiti Malaya (UM), Malaysia's oldest public research university, established in 1905.

The students then had the opportunity to learn more about the ICAEW study program at the Sunway TES facility, which primarily teaches the CFAB and ACA programs, as well as to experience the use of virtual reality (AR) in learning.

In addition to activities that help students experience the real working environment, particularly at foreign enterprises, beginning in their first years of university, and sharing sessions to improve soft skills, CFAB+ students have oriented their careers, professional skills, and built their own plans more clearly in their study path and career conquest.
