UEH and Dong Thap People’s Committee officially signing to cooperate in the new period 2022 - 2027

On the morning of March 31^st, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) and Dong Thap People’s Committee formally signed a cooperation agreement for the 2022 – 2027 period. This occasion marked a cooperation relationship milestone that brings practical results, contributing to the socio-economic development of Dong Thap province and advancing the academic reputation and sustainable action of the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City in the upcoming time.

The signing ceremony recorded the presence of Mr. Pham Thien Nghia - Chairman of Dong Thap People’s Committee and provincial cadres. Representing UEH, there were the appearances of Prof. Nguyen Dong Phong - Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of UEH Council; Prof. Su Dinh Thanh - President of UEH; Assoc. Prof. Phan Thi Bich Nguyet - Chairwoman of the Strategy and Policy Advisory Council and Heads of UEH Units and Departments.

After signing the first cooperation agreement in October 2017, UEH and Dong Thap People’s Committee had some exchanges, conducted a great number of cooperation contents, and achieved some specific results in training undergraduates and graduates as well as coordinated scientific research at the order of Dong Thap province. This is a crucial practical basis for the two sides to adjust, supplement cooperation contents, and officially sign a cooperation agreement for the 2022 - 2027 period on the morning of March 31^st, 2022.

Specifically, the purpose of this cooperation agreement signing was to focus on such aspects as Human Resources training and development, coordination of science and technology activities, consultancy and criticism for socio-economic development programs, policies, and plans of Dong Thap province.

Mr. Pham Thien Nghia - Chairman of Dong Thap People’s Committee - required relevant Provincial Departments to actively coordinate with University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City to promote the implementation of the two-side agreed tasks, especially those that have a direct impact and relation to the socio-economic development of Dong Thap province listed as transforming the rural economy, building model of circular economy, green economy, associating digital economy with local production reality.

At the ceremony, Prof. Nguyen Dong Phong - Chairman of UEH Council -  shared that some new points of this cooperation were coordination in training human resources for Dong Thap Province in the field of environment, urban planning; post-graduate training in the field of public policy to develop the political analysis and consultancy capacity for the provincial cadres; model synthesis and generalization in Dong Thap as experience for localities to study (Case Study),...

The cooperation agreements, which have recently been signed, are expected to create a new and solid foundation for the two-side promotion and implementation in many cooperation contents which lead to practical results, contributing to the socio-economic development of Dong Thap Province and enhancing the academic reputation and UEH sustainable actions in the following time.
